Women’s curling ‘Team Ha’ loses World Championship Korea-Japan match… Red light for finals

The women’s national curling team ‘Team Ha’ lost in the Korea-Japan match at the World Championships.

Team Ha lost 4-7 to Japan’s스포츠토토 ‘Team Fujisawa’ in the ninth round of the 2023 Women’s Curling World Championships preliminary round held in Sandviken, Sweden on the 23rd (Korean time).

Team Fujisawa is well known for its rivalry with the national team ‘Team Kim’ at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

As a result, Tim Ha suffered three consecutive defeats after kneeling against Turkiye and Canada in the 7th and 8th matches of the preliminary round.

At one time, they could not maintain the momentum that they had risen to a tie for second place with 4 wins and 2 losses. Currently, with 4 wins and 5 losses, it is tied for 7th place with Japan, USA and Turkiye.

Now, we have matches against Sweden (2nd place, 6 wins, 3 losses), the United States, and Switzerland (1st place, 9 wins).

A total of 13 countries participated in this competition, and the first and second place teams in the preliminaries advance directly to the semifinals.

The remaining semi-final tickets will be won by the winning team, with 3rd and 6th place and 4th and 5th place respectively.

In last year’s competition, ‘Team Kim’ wore the Taegeuk mark and won the runner-up, the best result ever.
