Lugned O’Dowd, a former teammate of Kim Ha-seong of the Major League Baseball (MLB) San Diego, has been designated for assignment.
The Padres recalled catcher Luis Camposano from the 60-day disabled list with a left thumb injury on Aug. 19. The club designated O’Dowd for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster.
O’Dowd, who has played first, second, third and right field this season, batted .210 with four home runs and 18 RBIs in 59 games. O’Dowd will be eligible for free agency or assigned to the minors if he does not receive an offer from another team in the next seven days or is not traded by San Diego.스포츠토토
Catcher Austin Nola and first baseman Brandon Dixon were demoted to Triple-A El Paso. Nola has seen his role shrink since the arrival of Gary Sanchez early last month. In 52 games, he struggled, batting .146 with one home run and eight RBIs. Dixon hit just .203 with two home runs and nine RBIs in 33 games.
In Nola and Dixon’s place, first baseman Alfonso Rivas and outfielder Taylor Callaway were promoted to the major leagues.
