KAIST alumnus Do Yeon-nim’s ‘baby daddy’?… “Refrain for now” after allegations surfaced

Doyons, a KAIST graduate who has worked as a monk, author, and meditation expert, announced on July 7 that he will stop his social media activities for the time being and take a time of self-restraint.

“There may have been some people who felt uncomfortable when I continued my activities as usual without providing explanations and counterarguments to the controversies and suspicions that have arisen recently,” he said on his SNS, adding스포츠토토, “I would like to take a break from SNS activities for a while.”

“I feel responsible for the burden I have placed on the Jogye sect and will spend time in self-restraint, practice, and study for the time being,” he added.

Recently, there have been allegations in the Buddhist and publishing worlds that a monk from a prestigious university is a “father with children. In response, the publisher reportedly took the book out of print and terminated the publishing contract. The monk has not taken a clear position on the matter.

Do Yeon entered KAIST’s electronics department in 2005 and left a little over a year later. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in technology management from KAIST in 2015, and later enrolled in the graduate school of Indian philosophy at Dongguk University, where he earned a doctorate in philosophy for his dissertation, “Research on the Origins and Practicality of Modern Meditation (with a focus on mindfulness and yoga).

Do, who is currently a meditation instructor at Bong Eunsa Temple of the Jogye sect of Korean Buddhism, was also scheduled to lead a 12-week mindfulness meditation class starting on the 10th. The course is already full and applications are closed.

Do Yeon runs a YouTube channel, Mindfulness Do Yeon TV, about meditation and life wisdom. She has also appeared on terrestrial TV programs such as KBS 1 TV’s Morning Madness, SBS TV’s Morning Wide, and MBC TV’s Live This Morning.
