From Na Kyun-an to Koo Seung-min… ‘Team ERA at the bottom’ Lotte’s high-quality pitching battle

Lotte, which is at the bottom of the team’s ERA among 10 clubs, showed a high-quality pitching match in the Changwon NC game on the 21st. All the pitchers on the mound played their roles perfectly. From Lotte’s point of view, I thought, ‘It would be nice if every day was the same as today’.

Na Gyun-an, the most reliable member of Lotte’s starting lineup, cut the first tape. He has been active as a practical ace with 3 wins, undefeated ERA of 1.45 until the match, and achieved his second quality start plus of the season (7 innings, 3 hits, 3 walks, 6 strikeouts, 2 runs).

While Kyun-an Na guarded the mound, the Lotte batting line continued the march of 0. Of course, it wasn’t that there were no scoring chances. He took chances with 1 out and 2nd base in the 3rd inning, 2nd base out unscathed in the 4th inning, and 2 out and 1st and 3rd base in the 5th inning, but no shots were fired.

Na Kyun-an, who was in danger of losing even after achieving the second quality start plus of the season, passed the mound to 스포츠토토Choi Jun-yong in the 8th inning, trailing 1-2.

Choi Jun-yong, who stepped onto the first team stage for the first time this season, successfully finished his first appearance of the season with a scoreless inning. After handling Park Min-woo and Cheon Jae-hwan as fly balls, he got a heavy hit from Park Gun-woo, but ended the inning by inducing Son Ah-seop to fly to right field.

Lotte balanced 2-2 with Han Dong-hee’s center fielder’s sacrifice fly in the ninth inning attack. Lotte put in Kim Won-joong, who finished the ninth inning. Kim Won-jung, who lightly grounded Kim Seong-wook and Oh Young-soo, was hit by Do Tae-hoon, but Oh Tae-yang, who replaced Do Tae-hoon as a runner, failed to steal second base and finished the inning.

During the attack in the top of the 10th inning of extra time, Lotte succeeded in turning 3-2 with a wild throw from the 1st and 3rd bases created by a pinch hitter, Jung-hoon’s walk, and Jeon Jun-woo’s heavy hit after two shots. To protect the victory by one point, I took out the Seung-Min Koo card and held it.

Koo Seung-min was driven to second base with first batter Yoon Hyung-joon’s walk and Kim Joo-won’s sacrifice bunt. He struck out Min-Woo Park for the second out count. Koo Seung-min is in a situation with two outs on first and third base due to wild fighting and Cheon Jae-hwan’s walk. He ended the bloody battle by defeating Park Kun-woo with a strikeout on a swing.

Lotte defeated NC 3-2 and ended its three-game losing streak against NC after the resignation game on September 10 last year. The meaning of the victory was all the more significant as they won a thrilling come-from-behind victory with a solid mound at the forefront.

Meanwhile, Lotte announced foreign pitcher Charlie Barnes as the starting pitcher on the 22nd. Barnes, who first set foot on Korean soil last year, had a successful debut season with 12 wins and 12 losses (average ERA of 3.62), but took one loss through two appearances this season. As can be seen from the ERA of 10.80, the content of pitching is also lower than expected.

If Barnes showed half a battle, wouldn’t he be the best scenario he could wish for?
