Kiwoom Heroes Jang Jae-young (21) achieved the win requirement for the first time since his debut.
Jang started the game against the NC Dinos of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on May 5 and threw 5⅓ innings of two-hit ball with four walks and seven strikeouts.
After getting leadoff hitter Son As-seob to ground out to shortstop in the first inning, Jang struck out Seo Ho-cheol on three pitches and got Park Min-woo to ground out to second base to end the inning with a triple play. In the second inning, Kwon Hee-dong singled and Jason Martin walked to put runners on first and second with no outs, but Yoon Hyung-joon, Chun Jae-hwan, and Park Se-hyuk all struck out to get out of the jam.먹튀검증
After giving up a leadoff walk to Kim Joo-won in the third, Jang Jae-young was hit by a pitch to put runners on first and second with no outs, but he induced a pop-up to Seo Ho-cheol and struck out Park Min-woo to end the threat. In the top of the fourth, he walked Martin to load the bases, but induced Yoon Hyung-joon to fly out to end the inning.
After striking out three in the fifth, Jang Jae-young took the mound in the sixth. After getting leadoff hitter Son As-seob to fly out to left field, Jang walked Seo Ho-cheol and was replaced by Yang Hyun with one out in the top of the sixth with Kiwoom leading 2-0. Yang closed out the inning without allowing a run, preserving Jang’s win. This is the first time Jang has ever gotten the win in his first start.
With 92 pitches, Jang broke the single-game records for most innings pitched, most strikeouts, and most strikeouts in a single game. If the game ends with Kiwoom holding on to the lead, he will get his first career win.
